Recipient of the prestigious Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, University of Huddersfield is one of UK’s most reputed universities located in Huddersfield region of West Yorkshire, England. It is dedicated in its mission to be an inspiring, innovative university of international renown.

The history of the university dates to the Young Men’s Mental Improvement Society established in1841. After a series of mergers, the Huddersfield Polytechnic attained the university status in 1992 and was rechristened as the University of Huddersfield.

The university has three campus namely Queensgate Campus, University Campus Oldham (UCO), University Campus Barnsley. More than £250 million has been invested in the Queensgate Campus including £17 million investment in Business School, £3 million in Buckley Innovation Centre, £22.5 million in Student Central, £27.5 million Oastler Building for Law. Over £5.5 million has been invested in developing music, art and design, journalism, and media production facilities at the Barnsley campus

Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements for First Degree Courses:

For entry to first degree courses, we’re looking for people who have one or more of the following Level 3 qualifications:

  • Passes in five subjects from a combination of GCE Advanced Level (includes A-Level and AS Level) and GCSE which must include at least two subjects at Advanced Level*
  • Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers
  • Applied General and Technical Level 3 Extended Diploma
  • Applied General and Technical National Award, Certificate, Subsidiary Diploma or Diploma
  • International, European or Welsh Baccalaureate
  • Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 Level 3 credits achieved at Merit
  • Irish Leaving Certificate with Grade H6 or above in four subjects at Higher Level
  • Cambridge Pre-U Diploma.

* Must not include an Advanced Subsidiary GCE (AS Level) in the same subject as an Advanced GCE (A-Level)

Entry requirements for Professional Practice Courses are Normally:

  • An Honours degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent professional qualification, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, and Management or a Quantitative Science.
  • Applicants with other appropriate professional qualifications and/or experience will be considered on an individual basis.

English Requirement:

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5 (a minimum of TOEFL 550 (Computer Based Toefl 213) score) or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
