Course Details

Master's degree students may face more demands due to work or family responsibilities. The course structure recommends full-time students allocate 37 hours per week to their studies, equivalent to a full-time job, and part-time students allocate around 18 hours per week. The course includes teaching time, course work, independent learning, and assessments. On-campus teaching takes place on Thursdays and Fridays over two teaching blocks (September to January and January to May). From May onwards, the focus is on the development and realization of a Research Development and Practice project.
Master's study is deeper and more specialized than an undergraduate degree, allowing students to focus on something that matters to them and their career. Independent study and research are more common than in an undergraduate degree, but teaching time is mostly in-person and face-to-face. Teaching includes lectures, seminars, workshops, and tutorials. Support materials are available in Moodle, but all teaching is on-campus and in-person.
Assessment involves essays, industry reports, reflective accounts, professional presentations, projects, and portfolios. Students can test their skills and knowledge informally before undergoing formal assessments that count towards their final mark. Feedback on practice and formal assessments is available for future improvement.
