MRes Science and Health

The postgraduate Master's in Research (MRes) course is an excellent starting point for early-career researchers interested in doctoral studies or STEM careers. It provides transferable research skills and expertise in your chosen subject, allowing you to undertake original projects with experienced supervisors and join a research group. Graduates can pursue degrees in various fields, including Pharmacy Practice, Molecular Mechanism of Disease, Neurosciences, Drug Delivery, Physical Geography, Environmental Management, Human Geography, Biological Sciences, Marine Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Extreme Environments, Organizational and Occupational Performance, Human Performance, Physical Activity, Health and Rehabilitation, Psychology, Global Health, Health and Social Care, Oral and Dental Health Sciences, Palaeontology, Geoscience, Applied Geoscience, and Environmental Science.

• A 2:1 or first class honours degree in a relevant subject. If, instead, you have two or more years experience in a STEM job already, you are also eligible to apply. Please check the course details online for information about subject specialisms that can be supported.
• English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 6.0.
