MA Business Communication for International Leadership

This Master of Business Communication for International Leadership program teaches students how to communicate effectively across national, social, and cultural boundaries. It provides students with the tools they need to conduct successful business and establish healthy connections on a global scale. Students learn how to negotiate, handle change, and manage diversity, as well as how to communicate verbally and in writing. Graduates are equipped for managerial and leadership positions in areas such as marketing, international banking, human resource management, public relations, sustainability management, stakeholder management, logistics, and distribution management.

Entry Requirements

  • A second-class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject. Exceptionally, equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will be considered. This course is designed for non-native speakers (for applicants whose first language is not English). UK students who do not have English as their L1/first language can apply.

  • English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 6.0.

Graduates can pursue a career in corporate communication, marketing, public relations, social enterprise, management consulting, human resources, banking, logistics, or distribution. They can also work as a senior leader of corporate marketing, public relations specialist, sales director, management consultant, human resources manager, director of public engagement, or global sustainability manager.

Course Details

Master's degrees are a specialized and deeper education that requires students to work closely with academics committed to their field. The course structure is one year long, with 12 hours of timetabled teaching activities and 12 hours of independent study. The majority of teaching time is in-person and face-to-face, with teaching methods including seminars, workshops, one-to-one tutorials, and academic skills development workshops. Teaching staff includes experienced experts in international business, international management, intercultural communication, professional communication, academic and language skills development, and research methods. Assessments include simulation, case study analysis, oral presentations, report writing, written assessments, quizzes, and dissertation/major project. Students can test their skills and knowledge informally before undergoing assessments that count towards their final mark. Feedback on practice and formal assessments is available to help students improve in the future. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and the opportunities for students to apply their knowledge in real-life situations.
