Paramedic Science Pre-Registration MSc

A new two-year program in the North of England provides paramedic instruction to persons with a health-related degree. Paramedics are a crucial component of the NHS workforce, delivering urgent and emergency treatment. The two-year program, created in collaboration with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust, is the first of its type in the region. It provides excellent post-course employability as a Newly Qualified Paramedic (NQP) and practice placement possibilities in both ambulance and non-ambulance settings. The course is the first of its sort in northern England.

Entry Requirements


  • Honours degree in relevant human or health-related subject.
  • DBS check and health clearances.
  • Overseas Police Check requested for those living in a country outside the UK for 6 months or more.
  • Conditional offer upon completion of an APEL portfolio.
  • GCSE Maths at grade 4 or above, or grade C or above if awarded under the previous GCSE grading scheme.
  • Relevant prior experience in a health environment.
  • Potential to study at master’s level.
  • Evidence of recent study within 5 years
  • Offers subject to an interview.
  • Placement providers may require vaccinations.
  • Non-English first language students must meet English Language qualification requirements.
  • IELTS minimum is 6.5 overall.

Career Prospects

Most graduates of the MSc Paramedic Science (pre-registration) become Newly Qualified Paramedics (NQP) with an NHS Ambulance Service, but there are many other roles and opportunities available to you with this qualification across NHS Trusts, private healthcare organisations, as well as the military and voluntary
