Fashion Business & Management MA/MSc

This globally-focused and innovative course brings creative thinking and innovation to the forefront of fashion management and is based at our Business School for the Creative Industries. Here, you will build a portfolio of skills and knowledge that will give you a strong grounding in both fashion business practices, and the application of innovative thinking in a commercial context.

This course builds on the success of UCA's undergraduate business courses and provides a learning environment in which you can develop both creative and strategic skills in fashion business, management and marketing.

You will be supported to reach a deeper understanding of how the fashion industry operates, and engage with global fashion brands as you plan and produce a major project that is unique to you.

Course Details

The curriculum aims to support the development of your practice through relevant research, a deep understanding of how the fashion industry operates, and engagement with global fashion brands, in order to plan and produce a major project that is unique to you.

In Semester 1, you will review the history and theories of the business of fashion and how they apply to innovative current practise. Explore global marketing and communication strategies.

In Semester 2, you will explore buying and merchandising models. Investigate digital marketing in a fashion brand context. Strengthen your problem-solving capabilities with case studies, industry experts and develop the analytical skills to examine issues that affect fashion businesses.

In Semester 3, you will study key management topics including globalisation and sustainability. Examine the process of strategy development and implementation in trend forecasting. Practise creative and critical thinking for innovative solutions. Collaborating with your classmates and thinking like an entrepreneur.
