Our course investigates the natural, social, economic, and political factors that influence our ever-changing world, and it will assist you in understanding how to manage our environment sustainably and deal with social and environmental conflicts that affect our world. Marine Geography, Earth & Society, Climate & Environmental Change, and other units are taught by an expert-led team of lecturers, academics, and guest speakers.
Fieldwork is conducted in a variety of stimulating environments, including the Jurassic Coast, the Isle of Wight, and the New Forest.
Opportunities to learn through fieldwork by participating in staff-led research projects abroad
A chance to gain international field experience. Previous topics have included conservation practices in China and climate change preparation in Nepalese farming communities.

Foundation year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a foundation year. This additional year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the scientific skills required for this course and boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for future studies. You will progress to the full degree after successfully completing the foundation year.

Course accreditation

Our course has been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), as a recognition of its quality.  Accredited degrees contain a solid academic foundation in geographical knowledge and skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of the world beyond higher education.

Entry Requirements

  • 104 - 120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.

  • Foundation year:

     48-72 UCAS tariff points.

  • If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the 4 compone

    nts or equivalent.
