York St John University, York aims to educate, motivate, and inspire a new generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. The York campus is located at the center of the historic City of York. The magnificent campus on Lord Mayor’s Walk is spread across 11 acres and faces the historic York Minster. 

Recognised as one of the most reputed universities in the UK, York St. John University traces its history to 1841 and achieved its university status in 2006. Located in one of the most historic cities of UK, York offers a mix of both medieval nostalgia and modern cosmopolitanism.

More than £100 million has been invested in the transformational development of the York campus, equipping it with the state-of-the-art facilities and latest technologies. The De Grey Court, Fountains Learning Centre, The Foss Building are some of the latest additions to the campus. The De Grey Court and the Fountains Learning Centre houses the library, IT facilities and lecture theatres. The Foss Building houses the Sports hall, laboratory, and research facilities. If you do not currently meet the English Language requirements for your chosen course, we offer a number of Pre-sessional English courses that will help you reach the necessary standards. 

For these courses York St John University can only accept UK Visas & Immigration-approved SELT IELTS (IELTS for UKVI) exams as evidence of English Language ability.

Scholarship

For International Students:

York St John International Undergraduate Scholarship (York Campus only)

We offer a scholarship of £1,000 for all undergraduate (year 1 entry) fee paying international students. The scholarships are for undergraduate, in country courses at our York Campus (year 1 entry only). These scholarships do not apply to TNE or distance learning courses. The scholarship is applicable to the first year's fees only, not to each year of the programme.

The £1,000 will be automatically applied to your offer if you are successful in gaining a conditional offer.

Please note, PGCE applicants are not eligible for the international scholarships.

York St John Global Undergraduate Scholarship (York campus only)

International students who are successful in gaining offers for the following 8 undergraduate taught courses will be eligible for a scholarship worth £3,750 per year: 

  • BA (Hons) International Business
  • BSc (Hons) Digital Marketing and Data Analytics
  • BSc (Hons) Computer Science
  • BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
  • Law LLB (Hons)
  • BA (Hons) Hospitality and Tourism Management
  • BSc (Hons) Games Development
  • BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance

Please note: to be eligible for this scholarship, students must be starting year 1 of the degree programme and must pay the first year's fees in FULL prior to enrolment. 

York St John Global Postgraduate Merit Scholarship (York Campus only)

International students who are successful in gaining offers on postgraduate taught degree programmes at our York campus will be eligible for the following merit-based scholarships: 

  • Discount of £2,500 for those who achieved a 1st class undergraduate degree
  • Discount of £2,000 for those who achieved a 2:1 undergraduate degree
  • Discount of £1,500 for those who achieevd a 2:2 undergraduate degree

Please note: if overseas undergraduate degress do not use the UK classification system, our International Admissions team will work out your degree's equivalency to UK classification before awarding a discount.

Early Payment Discount (York and London Campuses)

A 5% early payment discount is available for all international postgraduate taught students (not applicable to undergraduate, Research, or PhD programmes) at both our York and London campuses. Students must pay fees in FULL by 12th September 2022 to be eligible for the discount. Students on the LLM course would need to pay in full no later than 29th August 2022.

Paying in full before your CAS issued is the optimal because the discount can then be applied to your fees stated on your CAS.
