The broad nature of this degree means diverse career pathways. Career prospects are excellent with many graduates going on to marketing or management roles.

Typical roles include product manager, brand manager, sales executive or market researcher and roles in management, recruitment or HR. 

Our students have secured placements and graduate roles with companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Intel, The Guardian, John Lewis, Disney, Coca Cola and the Rugby Football Union, as well a range of SMEs.

Entry Requirements

  • Tariff points: 112
  • GCSE: Grade C/4 in English Literature or Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. We do not accept Level 2 Key Skills, Functional Skills or Certificates in Adult Numeracy and Literacy as alternatives to GCSEs.
  • English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component 
  • A-level subjects: No specific subjects required.

Career Prospects

This broad business degree with a marketing specialism gives you diverse career pathways to choose from. These include client side and agency side positions, including marketing executive, account executive and trainee management roles.

Bristol has a strong labour market and employers highly value our course and students. We have good links with organisations and past graduates have secured roles with large multinationals, small to medium enterprises and charities.

Course Details

If you study on the four year (sandwich) course, you'll spend a year away from the University on a work or study placement after Year two.

Depending on which you choose, you'll either complete a placement learning or learning and development module.
