This course will help you develop your conceptual, creative, and technical skills by focusing on photographs as intentional'visual communication.
We foster new talent on this course, encouraging students to develop imaginative approaches to image-making as well as the technical knowledge required to become leading industry professionals.
This is one of the country's most established photography programs, and the current faculty brings a wealth of experience from the photographic and art sectors, including editorial, advertising, public relations, fashion, documentary, and art practices. We also have Apple and Adobe certified technical instructors on staff.

- Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma - grade DMM
- Access to HE Diploma - Pass Access with a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points. Applicants to Staffs who are taking the Access to HE Diploma receive a reduced tariff point offer as part of our access and participation plan activity
- UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - grade of Merit overall
- OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DMM
- T Levels - Eligible T Level applications will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of P (A*-C) or Higher Pass as a condition of offer

Course Details
This course is delivered through workshops, lectures, tutorials, and visits from industry professionals such as photographers, editors, stylists, and artists.
The first year of the Photography degree introduces key concepts relevant to contemporary photographic practice through challenging practical projects aimed at improving technical abilities such as lighting techniques, processing and printing skills, and so on. You'll learn about the history of photography and spend time practicing camera and communication skills.
As you progress through the program, you will strengthen your emerging photographic practice by learning about the photography industry and participating in research projects and public exhibitions. The course's contextual features will encourage you to think critically about photography and its impact on culture and society.
