The MSc Manufacturing Management programme gives students a broad understanding of the field, with a focus on product design, sustainable materials, lean process design, smart manufacturing, logistics, operations strategy, procurement, inventory management, and continuous improvement and quality management. The program provides a variety of award options, including a one-year full-time, 18-month full-time, two-year full-time, and two-year full-time MSc Manufacturing Management with Extended Professional Practice. The School of Physics, Engineering, and Computer Science provides innovative teaching techniques, such as traditional face-to-face instruction and online resources, as well as an open access laboratory and computer policy, to assist students in completing schoolwork on time.

Entry Requirements

  • The programme requires an honours degree in an engineering or related discipline, with no substantial overlap.
  • International qualifications are considered based on their equivalence to UK qualifications, guided by the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC). Proficiency in written and spoken English is required, with an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent for non-English speaking candidates. Non-compliant candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Course Details

The School of Engineering and Technology has a reputation for innovation in teaching and learning, where nearly all MSc modules are delivered through a combination of traditional face-to-face teaching and backup tutorial's using the University's StudyNet web based facility. StudyNet allows students to access electronic teaching and learning resources, and conduct electronic discussion's with staff and other students. A heavy emphasis is placed on theory and practice, and the School has a policy of using industrial standard software wherever possible. The School also operate an open access laboratory, and computer policy, that will help students complete coursework and assignments, at a scheduled pace and on time.
