The MSc Management is designed to provide you with a multidisciplinary approach to management. Upon graduation, you’ll be equipped with the personal and professional skills needed to be competent and successful managers in modern businesses.

You’ll develop a strong foundation of understanding of the role of management and its implementation across different industries. From developing an understanding of the role of management in the wider international economy, to the responsibilities of management to society, sustainability, and the planet, you’ll explore management from a range of perspectives.

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to businesses as consumers become more conscious of their impact on the environment. Businesses are required to balance the need for transparency in the choices they make, while considering the needs of the business. Throughout the course, you’ll explore the key challenges of sustainable decision-making and the importance of managing relationships with communities, society and the environment. You’ll learn to bring together a range of business practices, knowledge and skills, and apply them to develop sustainable business activities.

Entry Requirements

The normal entry requirements for the programme are a good first degree i.e. 2:1 or 2:2 in any discipline. However, recognising that people often need a second chance, we also accept students with a borderline 3rd/2.2. We also accept a degree equivalent professional qualification or appropriate work experience combined with a relevant qualification.

All students from non-majority English speaking countries require proof of English language proficiency. The following qualifications and grades will be considered:

  • GCSE English language grade A-C
  • IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)

Our aim for the course is to prepare you for a career in business and management where knowledge of a range of disciplines and business functions are imperative. The range of professional, individual, and transferable skills necessary for a successful career in management form a key component of the course and its design.

The MSc Management offers students an academically rigorous experience, providing you with knowledge of a wide range of business functions essential for future career success. However, the course also has a strong practical orientation, demonstrated in the use of real-life case studies across your subjects which are each designed to develop your personal and management skills.

Course Details

You’ll cover the basics of a range of core managements skills and disciplines. The breadth of areas studied will give you highly transferable skills, relevant to most work environments, which will enable you to become an effective employee or a future entrepreneur.

You’ll benefit from an integrated teaching approach where theory is combined with practice across the modules. This is reflected in the assessment methods which include:

  • essays and written reports.

  • presentations.

The course also places a great emphasis on the development of sound research practices and training to enable you to develop the essential skills needed to succeed in an increasingly global world and knowledge economy.

You’ll have the opportunity to undertake an Integrated Research Project with the support of a range of staff. You’ll be offered subject specialist help as you begin the process, enabling you to select an appropriate and viable research area. You’ll also be allocated an individual supervisor who will guide you through the process with a series of one-to-one and small group meetings – leading you forward to the end of the process.
