Students will study Spanish and Portuguese and the cultures and societies of countries where these languages are spoken.
Studying Spanish and Portuguese offers a wealth of opportunities and possibilities. As well as aiming to provide communication skills in two major global languages, this course gives students cultural and intercultural knowledge, not only about Spain and Portugal, but the 20 Latin American countries where these languages are spoken.
Why study this course with us?
The course at Chester allows you to study the Spanish and Portuguese languages, as well as cultures of the many countries where the two global languages are spoken.
You also have the opportunity for two placements abroad, a shorter placement in the second year, and for most students, a full academic year placement, or two placements abroad during the third year of the degree.
Our Languages For All programme allows you to also study one of eleven languages at a range of levels in addition to your degree. Fees are fully reimbursed on completion of the course.
You may choose to complete an Introduction to TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) which might be particularly helpful if you are intending to work as a language assistant during your year abroad or in the longer term.
