We offer an exciting and stimulating three-year degree that, on successful completion, leads to eligibility to apply to register with the professional regulator as a qualified social worker. This course aims to enable you to develop your knowledge, skills and values and demonstrate your professional capability.

which comprises four Higher Education Institutions, eight Local Authorities, three NHS Trusts and a voluntary sector organisation covering Liverpool City Region, West Lancashire, Warrington, Cheshire West and Chester.

If you are a mature student (21 or over) and have been out of education for a while or do not have qualifications at Level 3 (equivalent to A Levels), then we can consider you and our Foundation Year will help you to develop the skills and knowledge you will need to succeed in your chosen degree.

Course Details

The curriculum for this course is subject to change from time to time due to curriculum enhancement, staff changes, student numbers, improvements in technology, changes to placements or regulatory or external body requirements. In Year 1, students will study core topics that provide the underpinning knowledge base for social work. In Year 2, students will focus on the social work role with children, families and adults, and undertake a 70-day practice placement. In Year 3, students will study modules that develop depth of understanding and a 100-day practice placement.
