Your learning will be supported within a setting that provokes creative experiences, embracing communication design as a social and commercial activity.

Entry Requirements

Typical Entry: 

112 UCAS points

GCE A Level:

A minimum of 112 UCAS points from GCE A Levels or equivalent, including Art, Art & Design, Graphic Design, Design & Technology. Typical offer: BCC/BBC.

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS Academic: Undergraduate: 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any band)
  • Postgraduate: 6.5 (no less than 5.5 in any band

Course Details

Year 1 introduces subject-specific skills; the theory, practice and context of design; and relevant technology, experimenting with traditional and digital media to increase confidence in your creative language.

Year 2 extends creative language; investigates complex problems; emphasises the needs of client and audience; and develops your knowledge of critical theory, research methods and practice.

Year 3 determines future pathways through live briefs, self-generated briefs, competition briefs, business planning, and your final show.
