The Foundation Year in Business is offered as an entry route to a business degree for those who don't yet meet the entry requirements for degree-level study.

Why study the Foundation Year in Business at Middlesex University?

The Foundation Year in Business is taught by the same lecturing staff who teach our degree courses and you are taught in small group seminars, workshops, and lectures. You will be able to develop transferable skills in business, communication, and problem-solving.

You will enroll in a four-year course, which includes the one-year foundation course. If you complete this year successfully you progress directly onto one of our three-year degree courses in this subject area.

The Foundation Year is for you if:

  • you do not have the right qualifications for a full degree

  • you feel you are not yet ready for degree-level study

  • you are returning to study and feel you need some help to get up to speed with the demands of learning before embarking on a degree.

Course Details

The Foundation Year in Business involves studying four one-year modules, providing in-depth examination of topics. Students receive a free electronic textbook for each module. Optional modules are available at levels 5 and 6, but not all courses offer them. Students must choose their preferred option during the previous academic year. If an optional module is not offered, the program will advise students after the selection period or at the earliest decision, and help them choose an alternative module.
