International Project Management MSc

This intensive course is for people who want to use high-level project management skills to make a difference to the performance of global businesses.

All of your teaching will reflect the kind of tasks and challenges you may be likely to face in the professional environment.

The course aims to prepare you to sit for a range of professional qualifications including PRINCE2, PMP, SCRUM and APM upon graduation.

Extended Professional Practice

This course offers the option of undertaking Extended Professional Practice. Our Extended MSc courses are delivered over 18 months instead of the usual 12 months, giving you the opportunity to undertake a longer internship* or project as part of your course.

You will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how businesses operate, how to apply theory to real-world scenarios, and how best to prepare you for the world of business with confidence.

Our Talent Team are here to support you in securing an extended placement with the right employer. Whether you are looking to join a small business or a large organisation, the team will work with you to help you achieve your internship goal.
Your placement will be full-time, with students expected to work approximately 35 hours per week.

The Extended Professional Practice course lasts 5 semesters; during semesters 1 and 2 you will undertake 120 taught credits on-campus; in semesters 3 and 4 you will undertake the placement; in the final semester, you will take a 60-credit project module in which you will write up your internship report and research findings.

A second class honours degree (2:2) or equivalent.

Applications from candidates with relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis. Work experience is desirable but not essential.

English as a Foreign Language an IELTS of 6.5 overall is required for this course.

Where our graduates work

You could choose to pursue a career in project management itself, or you could use your skills in a range of other careers – perhaps in operations, finance, logistics, facilities or marketing.

Depending on your background and experience, you might apply to join a project team at a large UK or international organisation. Alternatively, you might apply to become a business consultant, or you might want to start your own business and become self-employed. You can be sure that there are plenty of opportunities for good project management graduates!

You don’t need to have a clear picture of your future before you apply for this course. This course aims to help you discover your own strengths and interests, and find that your aspirations over time.
