With a focus on leading change, and managing relationships across multiple global stakeholders, this course should equip you with the skills needed to become a successful business professional. These skills will be developed through teaching that covers the theories of international business, as well as their practical applications, all the while supported by our modern learning spaces, including our Business Simulation Suite.

Coventry Business School was ranked as 'excellent' by Eduniversal in 2019, an annual ranking of Business Schools across 154 countries. Through guest speakers, industry visits, case studies and collaborative online learning projects, we aim to share real-world business experiences and bring you up-to-speed with the issues and challenges facing modern businesses as they navigate the international arena (opportunities are subject to availability and additional costs may apply).

Please note that fees for this course are charged per each two semester block rather than per year, with the second set of fees raised upon successful enrolment onto the third and fourth semesters (Level 7). This means that, upon successful completion of this course, you will have paid the fees listed on this course page twice, once for the first and second semesters, and once for the third and fourth semesters.

Course Details

International business now touches the lives of pretty much everyone across the globe; it is therefore important for anyone working in business to understand the events, trends and forces that play a vital role in shaping commercial success or failure.

Taught over four semesters, the course is split into two distinct, but interrelated stages, with semesters one and two offering the opportunity to learn a broad set of skills that are applicable to the global market, touching upon project management, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. Semesters three and four then deepen your knowledge in certain specialist areas, such as performance management, and understanding emerging regions. Across all modules, real life examples are used, to help you bridge the gap between theory and practice – and which may touch on major international issues such as Brexit, the COVID-19 pandemic, or trade disputes between the US and China.

As well as key topics related to international business, the course also looks to emphasise the importance of the political, economic, cultural and social aspects of international business, and how an understanding of these aspects is crucial to business success. To succeed in international business, an ability to apply theory to different situations, in different countries or regions, is a key asset, and something that should be developed while studying this course.

Outside of the classroom, you will have access to Coventry University’s Talent Team, who are able to give tailored advice to support you as you consider your future career. There are also opportunities for international trips, to help you experience business in different countries first hand (subject to application, availability, additional costs and/or meeting any applicable visa requirements).
