Entry Requirements

An honours degree in any discipline, obtained from a recognised university/HE institution, or an equivalent qualification in a business related area.


Applicants will also need to have a minimum of two years post-degree full-time work experience in a management/administrative/ professional capacity.



Participants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written English language equivalent to IELTS 6.5 overall with no component less than 5.5, or TOEFL 600. If you have IELTS 6.0 you may be eligible to study our online pre-sessional English course.

Course Details

Health and Social Care is a substantial and growing service sector, with new government investments giving it a higher profile than ever. Rapid changes within the industry mean that there is likely to be demand for well-trained and multi-skilled individuals.

The aim of this course is to equip you with the personal and professional skills to enable you to think creatively about the delivery of existing health care services and to respond to future demands. You will address the unique challenges and complexities facing managers and leaders in health and social care organisations.

This pathway includes two healthcare management specialist modules and your project will also be in this field. There will be no reference to healthcare management on your degree certificate, however your transcript will show all the modules you have studied and the grades you received.

The course consists of three distinct but interconnected stages:

  • The Certificate phase will develop a resource-based view of the business enterprise and examine how value is created, including the impact of the wider business environment on the enterprise’s value creation activities.
  • In the Diploma stage the focus shifts to considering the manager’s role in the development of an enterprise in response to the internal and external context, to create sustainable value.
  • The Masters phase of the programme will focus more specifically on the healthcare  sector and /or healthcare management roles. The emphasis will be on exploring, critically evaluating and applying a range of sector specific models and concepts within a healthcare setting.

The course will also support you in clarifying and developing your career goals and will encourage reflection on how those goals might be met.
