Course Details

International business now touches the lives of pretty much everyone across the globe; it is therefore important for anyone working in business to understand the events, trends and forces that play a vital role in shaping commercial success or failure.

We place a significant emphasis on strategy development, recognising that to be competitive in today’s dynamic, complex environment, businesses must become less bureaucratic and more flexible, able to identify market opportunities and shift from one dominant strategy to another. You will be encouraged to adopt the view that all managers need to be involved in the strategic management process to achieve better organisational performance and maintain a position of competitive advantage.

We will examine the tools and techniques to identify and manage key issues for the future of your potential organisation, such as scanning the environment for critical information, suggesting changes to strategies to take advantage of environmental shifts and working with others to continuously improve work methods, procedures and evaluation techniques.

The course applies the six PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) and the course team conveys these principles and values to our students too, integrating them into the curriculum through Corporate and Social Responsibility and areas such as sustainable trading. The Business School has adopted PRME across its portfolio as a framework that is internationally recognised for adaption and change, an area critical for all businesses trading today.
