Develop technical computer animation skills and graduate with the breadth and depth of knowledge required to become future Technical Directors, Artists, or Research and Development Engineers in the computer animation and games industries. Develop tools to aid in the production of animation and game artifacts using technical, mathematical, and algorithmic skills. Develop software techniques in C++ to test new algorithms, shaders to support rendering, and scripts and tools to create new effects.
Attend guest speaker presentations from industry experts, including some of our successful alumni.
Collaborate with students from various NCCA Master's courses to provide a realistic setting for discovering what it's like to work with other creative people on a tight timeframe.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelors Honours degree with 2:2 in any subject.

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component of writing, speaking, listening and reading.

Career Prospects

Our computer animation courses are highly regarded in the industry, and based on previous years, postgraduate employment prospects are excellent. The majority of graduates work in the film industry as technical directors or R&D developers. Several graduates have also found employment in computer game companies.

Course Details

On this course you will be taught by a range of staff with relevant expertise and knowledge appropriate to the content of the unit. This will include senior academic staff, qualified professional practitioners, demonstrators, technicians and research students. You will also benefit from regular guest lectures from industry.

The course is split into four terms, each lasting ten weeks. The first three terms are the Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), and the final term is the Master’s term.
