The first university in the UK to offer an MA in Sound Design offers a blend of practical and theoretical learning to help you develop the collaborative, technical, and creative skills you need to work professionally in the film, television, games, and virtual reality industries. With students from various film and TV disciplines, collaborate on original projects. Create connections and partnerships with BU's National Centre for Computer Animation animation students.
Facilities and equipment that are up to industry standards include Sound Devices location recorders, AVID S3 and Pro Tools Ultimate stereo mixing suites, a Foley and ADR studio, an AVID S6-equipped 7.1 dubbing suite, and access to an AVID S6-equipped Dolby ATMOS mixing theater. For graduates looking to enter the industry, the course, which is an AVID Learning Partner, offers industry relevance and credibility. Graduates also have the option of earning the Pro Tools 101 certification.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelors Honours degree with 2:2 in any subject.

     

  • If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing, speaking, listening and reading.
