The syllabus for this course, which is taught by academics from our renowned Centre for Intellectual Property Policy & Management (CIPPM), was created with input from intellectual property practitioners from some of the top businesses and practices in the UK. for students considering a career in law firms, national, regional, or international governmental organizations, or the industry in the field of intellectual property law, and developed in collaboration with The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and The Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys.
Recognize the legal frameworks for national, regional, and international IP rights as well as current concerns regarding IP and emerging technologies.
Through a variety of optional units, you can modify your degree to suit your interests or professional goals.

Course accreditation

Setting the educational and training requirements for qualification as a patent attorney and a trademark attorney is the responsibility of the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg), an independent regulatory body for patent and trademark attorneys.

Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor Honours degree with 2:2 in any subject, or equivalent.

  • If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in all other components.

     

Career Prospects

This course is a great way to get ready for a legal career because of opportunities like a 12-month paid traineeship with the European Patent Office (EPO) or the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).
Numerous employers, including Axis Associates International Co. Ltd., the Court of Justice, Spoor & Fisher, and UPTX, have hired course graduates in the past.
