Qualifying as a sports therapist allows you to provide advice and treatment for injury prevention and rehabilitation, allowing people of all athletic levels to reach their full potential and performance. Throughout the course, you will gain relevant experience in real sports therapy settings, from observing clinicians to managing a caseload. This course is accredited by the Society of Sports-Therapists, which means that if you successfully complete it, you will be eligible to apply for membership with them. To inform our teaching and provide placement opportunities, we have strong links with sports injury clinics, sports clubs, and some of the biggest names in the sports industry. You'll learn how to assess and manage sports injuries, as well as provide specialist advice and treatments such as sport and remedial massage and musculoskeletal interventions, by combining theoretical and practical elements.

Course accreditation

This course is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists and will provide insurance for 250 hours of practice. On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to apply for membership with them.

Entry Requirements

  • 128 - 144 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A - levels or equivalent including 40 points in a required subject. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM.
  •  If English is not your first language, you will need IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component or equivalent.

  • Researching musculoskeletal function and performance in relation to sports injuries and sports therapy
  • Working in the health and fitness industry.

Course Details

Qualifying and working as a Sports Therapist will allow you to provide injury prevention and rehabilitation advice and treatment. After graduation, you'll be able to help athletes, both men and women, reach their full potential and performance.
The course is divided into theoretical and practical components, and you will learn how to provide advice and treatment to manage a person's individual needs within their sporting environment. This may include developing and implementing injury prevention programs, providing immediate care for injuries, and providing basic life support in recreational, clinical, training, and competitive settings.
As part of rehabilitation programs, there will be opportunities to assess and manage sports injuries by providing specialist advice and treatments such as sport and remedial massage and musculoskeletal interventions.
