This course will help you gain a comprehensive understanding of the impact of exercise on health and performance by covering a wide range of topics such as physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutrition. We are pleased that the course received a 100% overall satisfaction rating.
Use our human performance laboratories to evaluate and learn how to improve the performance of athletes or sports teams, as well as individual health.
We have strong relationships with some of the biggest names in sports to inform our teaching and provide placement opportunities. Make the most of our partnership with AFC Bournemouth by hosting guest speakers and volunteering opportunities. Choose between a six-week or 30-week work placement, which will allow you to make professional connections within the industry while also putting your learning into practice.

Foundation Year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a Foundation Year option. This extra year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the scientific skills required to prepare you for the Sport and Exercise Science degree and boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for further study. After completing the Foundation Year successfully, you will progress to the full degree and begin your Sport and Exercise Science studies. The Foundation Year will take place at Bournemouth's Talbot Campus.

Entry Requirements

  • 112 - 128 tariff points including a minimum of 2 A levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.

  • Foundation year

    : 48-72 UCAS tariff points.

  • If English is not your first language, you will need IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each compo

    nent or equivalent. 

Career Prospects

As an employability course, you can select option units to tailor the degree to your desired career path. The skills you will acquire are transferable, allowing you to pursue careers in teaching, coaching, personal training, sports leadership, entrepreneurship, and a variety of other fields. This includes options for furthering your education in Physiology, Biomechanics, Psychology, Nutrition, Performance Analysis, Strength and Conditioning.
