Physiotherapists work to improve the lives of people who are experiencing physical or psychological difficulties. Through your understanding of human movement and function, you will gain healthcare skills that will allow you to help each patient reach their full potential. Course accreditation and approval: 

The accreditation and approval bodies on our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy will allow you to work anywhere in the world with your qualification. On successful completion of this course, you can: 

  • Apply to become a registered physiotherapist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) 
  • Become a professional member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) 

Entry Requirements

  • 136-152 tariff points including a minimum of 2 A levels or equivalent, including 40 points in a required subject. BTEC Extended Diploma of DDD. 
  • If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, or equivalent.
  • GCSE English Language or English Literature and Mathematics grade 4 (or grade C in the old grading system). We also accept iGCSEs, Key Skills Functional Skills, and other qualifications at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.


Career Prospects

The goal of this course is to provide you with all of the skills necessary to work as an independent physiotherapist once you graduate. Within 15 months of finishing their degree, 100% of our students are working or continuing their education. According to the Complete University Guide, this course is also ranked in joint first place for graduate prospects.
This qualification will allow you to work anywhere in the world, as well as in the United Kingdom.

After graduation, you will be able to confidently apply for jobs in the NHS or the private sector, or you may choose to pursue a career in education rather than practice. You can apply for the following positions:

  • Basic grade – band 5
  • Specialisation – band 6
  • Specialist practitioner – band 7
  • Consultant therapist – band 8
  • Lecturer – practitioner.

As a trainee physiotherapist, you will treat people of all ages with a variety of problems and learn how to help each patient reach their full potential by applying your knowledge of human movement and function. You'll also learn how to manage patients' physical, psychological, and social well-being, and because practical experience is so important in this course, you'll gain real-world experience in a variety of settings. In your final year, you will present an innovation project at a student conference, which will help you advance your career prospects.
