Foundation Year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a Foundation Year option. This extra year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the scientific skills required to prepare you for the Nutrition degree, as well as boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for further study. Our Talbot campus is home to the Foundation Year. After completing the Foundation Year successfully, you will progress to the full degree and begin your Nutrition studies.

Course accreditation  

The course is accredited by the Association for Nutrition, so you will be eligible to register as a Registered Associate Nutritionist when you graduate. Please note that the Foundation Year part of the course is not accredited.

Entry Requirements

  • 104-120 UCAS tariff points including 2 A-levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.

  • GCSE English Language or English Literature and Mathematics grade 4 (or grade C in the old grading system). We also accept iGCSEs, Key Skills, Functional Skills, and other qualifications at Level 2 of the National Qualifications Framework.

  • 102–118 UCAS tariff points with any combination of Distinction, Merit, And Pass grades.

  • IELTS (Academic) 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

You could work in local or national government, advising on nutrition policy, or your knowledge could benefit a nutrition charity or consumer group. Other options include working for food and beverage manufacturers and retailers, medical food companies, and positions in marketing, advertising, public relations, and communications.
