This degree, which examines crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry, and molecular biology, is intended to be one of the most modern and relevant of its kind. It has been designed to provide you with an understanding of forensic science theory and practice. Professional practitioners and guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields, such as forensic DNA profiling, crime scene investigation, and forensic toxicology, will teach the course.
You will be taught in modern lecture halls and cutting-edge labs with cutting-edge equipment.
Participate in invaluable lab and fieldwork experiences, such as mock crime scenes and a live-fire drill.
Theoretical and practical training in crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry, and molecular biology is provided.

Foundation year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a foundation year. This extra year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the scientific skills required for Forensic Science, as well as boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for further study. You will progress to the full degree after successfully completing the foundation year.

Entry Requirements

  • 104 - 120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM.

Career Prospects

This degree will provide you with a solid foundation in forensic and legal principles, as well as topics such as crime scene management and biological and chemical analysis. You will graduate with all of the skills you need to advance in the field, as well as hands-on experience with a variety of industry-standard equipment. Our graduates have worked in a variety of settings, including forensic science or hospital labs, local government enforcement agencies, and crime scene investigation teams. Course Details

You will learn in this course through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops, and practical sessions. Field trips are an important part of this course because they expose you to as many real-world situations as possible. You will benefit from regular guest lectures from industry in addition to teaching from BU faculty.
