As the only history degree in the UK housed within a Faculty of Media & Communication, with a focus on Modern History, Media History, and Public History, you'll gain practical and professional skills that will prepare you for a variety of careers. You will not only study history in the traditional sense, but you will also explore a wide range of topics by using newspapers, online sites, sound recordings, television, and film.
You will be evaluated through exhibitions, posters, websites, podcasts, blogs, and even a mock peace conference, in addition to traditional essays and exams.
Participate in public history by collaborating with a variety of outside organizations such as museums, archives, and heritage organizations.
Foundation Year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a Foundation Year option. This extra year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the media and communication skills required for this course, as well as boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for further study. You will progress to the full degree after successfully completing the Foundation Year.
