BA (Hons) Film (with Foundation Year option)

Develop skills in all aspects of film production, from concept to completion, from idea to distribution. You will graduate as an enterprising and entrepreneurial practitioner capable of working in and shaping the film industry of today and tomorrow. Through a combination of practical and theoretical approaches, learn about various aspects of filmmaking such as distribution, marketing, purchasing, fundraising, and film production.

Foundation year: For UK students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course, we offer a foundation year. This extra year of study will provide you with a solid foundation in the media and communication skills required for this course and boost your confidence, knowledge, and skills for further study. You will progress to the full degree after successfully completing the foundation year.

The International Moving Image Society is a highly respected professional body, uniquely placed to assure, encourage and support industry relevance in media production courses. All of our courses within the Media Production Department have received accreditation in recognition of their industry-standard teaching.

Optional specializations allow you to delve deeper into areas such as production management, camera and lighting, location and post-sound, editing, production design, distribution, or festival administration. This means you can tailor your learning to your career goals.
