Imagine looking up at skyscrapers you’ve designed, driving on roads you’ve engineered and leading large-scale projects reinventing the world around you. It’s all possible when you’re a Civil Engineer.
Study this accredited BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering degree in the city that gave the world Isambard Kingdom Brunel. You’ll learn to design, construct, operate and maintain infrastructure, which supports everything from buildings, transportation, and flood defences to providing safe drinking water and sanitation.
We’ve designed this course with your career in mind. You can get invaluable work experience on a one-year placement at leading organisations like Dyer & Butler and Fluor. And you'll be eligible to start training towards becoming an Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer.
You’ll get to grips with civil engineering theory and methods, develop the skills you need for success as a Civil Engineer, and immerse yourself in the industry on field trips and construction site visits.
You’ll explore areas including soils and materials, and design of structural elements. And because of our unique coastal location, you can also study underwater engineering and infrastructure, and complete a recognised PADI diving qualification.
This course is accredited by the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers – meeting in full the academic requirement for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and in part the academic requirement for Chartered Engineer (CEng).
