BA (Hons) Accounting With Finance

Want to turn your interest in finance into a long-lasting career? This BA (Hons) Accounting with Finance degree combines accountancy and financial skills to give you the economic expertise, analytical techniques and strategic insight businesses are looking for.

This course is accredited by four global accountancy bodies. Studying an accredited course means you can gain exemptions from professional examinations and get on the fast-track to becoming a Chartered Accountant.

You’ll get a grounding in accounting and business finance before exploring advanced topics such as taxation or accounting analytics. As you build your knowledge of business law, finance and the economy, you’ll finish with a dissertation on a topic that excites you. 

You’ll be supported to obtain the ACCA certificate in Data Analytics and the Bloomberg certificate. You could also gain valuable work experience on a placement. Some of our previous students have done placements at companies such as Deloitte, PwC, and Ernst & Young. And you’ll have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our partner universities in Europe, the US or Asia.

English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.

Accountants are in demand in all sectors, including the public sector and charities. Many companies employ in-house accountants, or you could work in an accountancy practice. Research by the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) shows companies spent around £17.7 billion on accountancy services in the UK in 2017.

You can also use your degree to get into banking, insurance, investment and fund management, but you're not limited to the financial sector.
