International Human Rights Law LLM

The LLM in International Human Rights Law targets all those willing to get involved in the work of international or regional organisations as well as NGOs which are active in the field of human rights protection. The LLM explores both the content of legal standards and the functioning of monitoring mechanisms in the context of real-life situations where human rights are being violated.

Ranging from the theoretical to the practical, the origins and fundamental principles of international human rights law are examined as well as issues that arise with regard to marginalised groups of people and the consequences of growing economic inequalities. With a view to increasing both analytical and research skills, there is also strong engagement with current discussions on potential improvement and reform of the international human rights system.
