Artificial intelligence (AI) is happening all around us and on a large scale. Companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Facebook are hard at work building world-class AI teams that will infiltrate every aspect of their products. AI is being used in everything from mobile phone apps to self-driving cars, and when combined with robotics, it will be a critical part of our future. It is even a major part of UK government planning.

Studying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotics allows you to gain a comprehensive degree in the multi-discipline areas of Computing, Software, Robotics, Autonomous Vehicles (Automotive), and 3D game design.

Entry Requirements

112-120 UCAS Tariff points:

  • GCE A Levels - grades BBC or equivalent
  • Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma - grade DMM
  • Access to HE Diploma - Pass Access with a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points. Applicants to Staffs who are taking the Access to HE Diploma receive a reduced tariff point offer as part of our access and participation plan activity
  • UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma - grade of Merit overall
  • OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DMM
  • T Levels - Eligible T Level applications will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of P (A*-C) or Higher Pass as a condition of offer

Career Prospects

Graduates of this program have gone on to work in a variety of industries, including finance, manufacturing, public health, and the entertainment industry. Roles could include real-time designer, robotic engineer, machine learning engineer, business intelligence developer, research and design engineer, software developer, or data scientist.

This course will prepare you for the workforce by providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the field and the opportunities for using AI in a business setting.

Course Details

Our first year will provide you with a broad understanding of the field, including aspects of software development and robotic design. With the 'Robot Worlds' module, you can even design, build, and race your own robotic vehicles.
The second year will expand on the first year's foundations, aiming to provide you with a more complex understanding of robotic software programming and interfacing, 3D game modeling with kinematics, commercial computing, and the implementation of Ethical Robotics in an AI world.
