Course Details
The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences Nursing Framework, which also offers three BSc degrees and the MSc Adult Nursing course, includes the MSc Mental Health Nursing course. In order to improve student learning and get you ready for practice, we have developed this course as a part of a coordinated suite of nursing courses.
Because of our approach to interprofessional education, students will participate in shared workshops, lectures, and learning events with peers taking health-related courses, including those on the BSc and other MSc nursing pathways, throughout the duration of the course. To ensure that your learning is customized and specific to your chosen field of expertise, as a Master's level student in mental health nursing, there will be parts of the course where you will be taught by staff who have specific nursing experience in this area and in groups with other mental health nursing students. In order to apply what you learn to real-world mental health nursing practice, your placements and assessments will also be subject-specific. At the Master's level, your academic tutor will concentrate on your unique development. You will be taught by a variety of staff members who have the necessary skills and knowledge for the units' subject matter.
