This special course examines how media and technological advancements provide authors and communication professionals with interactive forms of storytelling while de-prioritizing the idea of printed text and examining it alongside narrative in other media. Learn to analyze a variety of texts from literature, film, television, the internet, and popular culture critically while connecting those texts to other disciplines.
Examine how historical and contemporary texts have been adapted for various platforms, as well as how paratext and extra-textual materials affect audience expectations and experiences.
Examine how censorship, free speech, and other concepts are defined in the context of current cultural debates.
Learn how to think rigorously, critically, analytically, and creatively so that you can apply what you know to real-world situations.
